Second seminar on “Exploring Children’s rights to strengthen Sustainable Human Rights Education for Children”: Reflection of testing phase and introduction to methodical specifications for EDC primary school teachers, 25-26 November 2007, Hotel Kontinental - Skopje. Within the project on Education for Democratic Citizenship (EDC), in cooperation with the Bureau for Development of Education, the Council of Europe Office in Skopje organised the second seminar, which focused on the testing phase and introduced methodological specifications for EDC primary school teachers. The textbook for teachers "Exploring Children's Rights: Nine short projects" was presented by one of its authors, Mr Rolf Gollob and the participants worked on the adaptation of the Macedonian version of the textbook (draft agenda) (picture galery) |
Round table "Louder than the screem", Skopje, 22 November 2007. Marking the International day on elimination of all forms of violence against women, the Information Office of the Council of Europe in Skopje supported the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy in organising the Promotion of the National Action Plan on Gender Equality and the Campaign for prevention and protection from trafficking in human beings, followed by a Round table on the topic "Louder than the screem", which gathered Government officials, representatives of international organisations and the NGO sector in order to discuss the position of women, the situation regarding violence against women, including family violence, trafficking in human beings, as well as the national legislation and measures for prevention of violence against women and trafficking (draft agenda)

Training Session for Law Enforcement Officials on Human Rights Aspects in Police Work, 30-31 October 2007, Ohrid. Together with the CoE Directorate General of Human Rights and Legal Affairs, Police and Human Rights Programme, the IO Skopje assisted the Ministry of Interior to host the Training session on Human Rights Aspects in Police Work, which was attended by 40 police officials, representatives from the Bureau for Execution of Sanctions and the Ombudsman’s Office (draft agenda) |
EDC Training Seminar Skopje, 6-7 October 2007. Within the Council of Europe Project on Education for Democratic Citizenship (EDC), in cooperation with the Bureau for Development of Education and the Ministry of Education, the IO Skopje organised the Seminar “Exploring Children’s Rights to Strengthen Sustainable Human Rights Education for Children”. The seminar was opened by the Deputy Minister of Education and Sciences Jovan Lazarov and Emir Adzovic, Regional Education Manager of the Council of Europe. The seminar was attended by 30 participants, primary school teachers and is the first of a series of three seminars envisioned to be organised as a pilot phase in 2007 (draft agenda) |
 Regional Seminar on Protection and Specialised Support for Victims of Domestic Violence Skopje, 11-12 September 2007-In co-operation with the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy, the IO Skopje organised the Regional seminar on Protection and Specialised Support by the Police, Health-care Professionals and Social Workers for Victims of Domestic Violence within the Council of Europe campaign on Combating Violence against Women, including Domestic Violence. The seminar was attended by approximately 50 representatives of Government institutions and NGO representatives from the region of South-East Europe (draft agenda) |

Seminar for high ranking law enforcement officials on Police and Human Rights, Ohrid 3-4 April 2007 The Council of Europe DGII – Human Rights in cooperation with the MoI and supported by IO Skopje organised the Seminar for high ranking law enforcement officials on Police and Human Rights with focus on crime prevention relating to the police, prosecutors and citizens.
